Named for a Co-Founder
Donelson, about six miles east on US-70, takes its name from John Donelson, one of Nashville’s co-founders. The Grand Ole Opry, Opry Mills and Gaylord Opryland are here, and so is a WeGo Star commuter stop.
The area has weathered big events — Opryland went underwater in the 2010 flood, and the 2020 tornado re-intensified as it crossed Donelson. As original owners age out, estate cleanouts have become the steady work.
