A district that turns over constantly

Midtown runs from Vanderbilt west toward Centennial Park and the full-scale Parthenon, wrapping in Music Row — the historic recording district around RCA Studio B — and the West End corridor. The housing is a jumble that no single playbook covers: mid-rise apartments, older condos, and grand old homes chopped into flats. It's rented by students, young professionals, and the music business, which means the junk here moves on a fast clock. A tenant leaves and the unit has to be cleared before the next lease. A studio re-does a control room and a wall of dead gear has to disappear. A West End startup gives up its office and the desks and cubicles need to be gone by Friday.

We price all of it the same honest way: send a photo, get the exact flat number — labor, the truck, the dump fee, and the drive already in it. No hourly meter, no "we'll quote it on site," and no surprise charge because your building is a third-floor walk-up. Same-day pickup is usually available.

What we clear in Midtown, Music Row & West End

  • Student & renter apartment turnover — mattresses, futons, cheap desks and mini-fridges pulled from a unit between leases; the early-May Vanderbilt/Belmont/Lipscomb move-out is the big wave.
  • Music Row studio & publishing clear-outs — old gear racks, studio furniture, office chairs, and control-room build-out debris from a recording or publishing house.
  • Small-office clear-outs — West End desks, cubicles, conference tables, filing cabinets, and printers when a lease ends or a team downsizes.
  • Walk-up furniture hauls — sofas, sectionals and dressers carried down from converted-home flats and older mid-rises with no freight elevator.
  • Condo downsizing — a one-trip furniture-plus-appliance clear-out when an owner moves on.

Does Nashville pick up bulk junk in Midtown?

Not at the curb. Metro Nashville has no free curbside bulk-item pickup — the city's own program sends residents to self-haul to one of four convenience centers (Anderson Lane at 939A Anderson Ln in Madison, or Omohundro at 1019 Omohundro Pl), where the first bulk item plus a cubic yard of extra trash is free and there are fees beyond that. They're open Tuesday–Saturday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., closed Metro holidays; questions go to 311 or 615-862-5000. That's a tall order when your "bulk item" is a sleeper sofa on the third floor of a West End walk-up. Here's how the options actually stack up:

OptionWhat it takes
Metro convenience centerRent a truck, wrestle it down the stairs, drive to Madison, unload — free for 1 item, Tue–Sat only
Leave it at the curbNot a Metro service — it just sits there
JunkRabbitWe carry it out of the unit and down the stairs, flat photo price, often same-day

Why Midtown renters, studios and offices call us

  • The stairs are our problem, not yours. Converted-home flats and older mid-rises rarely have a freight elevator — our price already covers the carry-down.
  • We work around the calendar. Sessions on Music Row, a lease turning on the 1st, an office move on a Friday — we book the window that fits.
  • Flat from a photo. The number you get is the number you pay. No walkthrough, no day-of upcharge.
  • Usable pieces get donated. Good furniture and working appliances are routed to Goodwill of Middle TN and Habitat ReStore, not the landfill.

What Midtown customers say

★★★★★

"My son's lease near Vanderbilt ended and the apartment was full of a busted futon, a mattress and a mini-fridge nobody wanted. They carried it all down from the third floor — no elevator — and the flat price never budged."

— Karen S., West End
★★★★★

"Redid a control room on Music Row and had a wall of dead racks and old studio furniture to lose. Got the exact price from a couple photos and they worked around our session. Painless."

— Marcus D., Music Row
★★★★★

"We gave up our little West End office. Desks, chairs, filing cabinets, a conference table — gone in one truck-fill on a Friday afternoon, flat rate, no runaround."

— Priya N., Midtown
